Job Description
Candidate is responsible for following up directly with commercial and governmental payers to resolve medical claim issues, secure appropriate, and timely reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Initiates insurance follow up on aged, unresolved claims to ensure maximum reimbursement
- Submits appeals and reconsiderations on claim rejections, underpayments, and denials
- Engages the coding follow-up team for any medical necessity or coding related appeals
- Sets follow-up activities based on status of the claim
- Communicates identified payer trends such as denials for specific procedure, diagnosis codes, or other identified issues
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Must reside in Texas
- Two years relevant experience in medical collections
- Experience with Epic, Meditech, or Ace preferred
- An understanding of revenue cycle
- Demonstrate problem solving ability/analytical skills
- Organized and detail oriented
- Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Typing speed: 45+ WPM
- US work authorization (required)
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen as permitted by law
