Job Summary:
Assists in the efficient operation of the outpatient physician clinic. Establishes and maintains accurate clinical and financial records. Verifies insurance benefits, perform recertification as required, and secures appropriate payment at the time services are rendered. Establishes and maintains an accurate patient schedule, coordinating with appropriate disciplines.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School Diplomas or equivalent.
Licensure: N/A
Experience: One (1) year of clerical experience or one (1) year of college credits (minimum 24 hours) may be substituted for required experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Excellent communication skills. Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of general office procedures and uses of office equipment. Ability to multitask and manage high-volume workloads. Ability to interpret federal and state guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: N/A
Licensure: N/A
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a business office, registration, or billing in a hospital or clinic setting.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of billing various payor types.
