Job Summary
Caltech's Planning Design & Construction department (PD&C) seeks highly motivated Summer Interns to contribute to a new GIS visualization and data collection for the Facilities department on Campus. This includes building tours, documenting existing conditions such as power, infrastructure, exhaust, fume hoods, and more. Input findings into centralized document management system and drawings as needed. Must complete safety training to enter laboratory spaces.
This position is located on Caltech's main campus in Pasadena, CA.

Essential Job Duties
- Job walks will be essential in surveying existing conditions
- Contribute to a new GIS visualization and data collection for the Facilities department on Campus
- Document existing conditions such as power, infrastructure, exhaust, fume hoods, and more
- Input findings into centralized document management system and drawings as needed
- Complete safety training to enter laboratory spaces
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Current student of an accredited bachelor's program or master's degree program in architecture, engineering, GIS or related field of study
- Basic understanding of California Building Code
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Excel required, AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS
- Previous experience working in a professional environment
