Pharmacy Services Representative (Remote)


 

UPMC Healthplan has an exciting oppourtunity for a Pharmacy Services Representative in the Pharmacy Services Department. This is a full time position working Monday through Friday 9 am to 6pm with Saturday rotations. This is a remote position.

Provide customer service support, in a call center environment, to UPMC Health Plan's Department of Pharmacy Services. Interact with physicians, pharmacists, and members to obtain information pertinent to the decision-making process, explain Health Plan sponsored benefits, and assist with pharmacy claims processing functions. The scope of the information is primarily clinical and pharmacological in nature.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all duties with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Accurately complete required documentation per department guidelines.
  • Follow-up on inquires from UPMC Health Plan customers (physicians, members or pharmacists).
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Health Plan and departmental polices and procedures.
  • Respond to customer (physicians, members or pharmacists) requests and inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy technician training preferred.
  • Customer service and/or call center experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of health care/managed care concepts.
  • Good verbal and communication skills; including telephone skills.
  • Proficiency in typing required.
  • Ability to Microsoft Windows based PC and multi-line telephone.
