Job description:
BPM Music is looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a newly graduated or someone looking to advance their career in Human Resources. The Human Resources Assistant will be working closely with the Human Resources Director and Vice President of Operations in all aspects related to employee concerns while ensuring compliance in state, local and federal legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Support the HR department by performing clerical duties and other administrative tasks.
- Assist with the payroll process.
- Assist with the onboarding process of new hires.
- Assist with the onboarding process of existing employees.
- Assist with the transition from the school to BPM Music.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Hire and onboard new members of the team (posting on Indeed, onboard in ADP, etc)
- Assist with payroll
- Ensure employee compliance with all state and federal regulations. Unemployment, Insurance, EEO-1 Report, 5500 tax form, etc
- Ensure policies are applied fairly and consistently to all employees
- Provide training, advice, and guidance to management staff on employee issues
- Review all employee terminations and provide resources for unemployment
- Consult with our HR Business Partner on miscellaneous issues related to HR
- Track benefits and time off for employees on ADP TotalSource
- Assist employees with enrolling in benefits
- Assist the HR Director and Vice President of Operations with the annual renewal of benefits
- Ensure employees are enrolled in our benefits package
- Attend weekly meetings with team leads on general updates
- Maintain company culture
- Oversee annual performance reviews for employees
- Assist with sending internal newsletters that update employees on company progress, acknowledge personal milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, etc), and upcoming time-off
- Track company equipment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years in Human Resources
- Understanding of state and federal labor laws
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical attention to detail
- Experience with Google Suite
- Proficient with ADP TotalSource
- General communication via Slack and Gmail
- Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably within a team-oriented environment
- Ability to liaise with internal staff at all levels, including senior executives and external partners
Starting Salary:
- $65,000
Work Schedule (Pacific Time):
- 9AM - 6PM (M-Th) 8AM - 5PM (F)
